August 15, 1947 was the most fortunate and important day in Indian history, when our Indian freedom fighters sacrificed everything and gained independence for the country of India. Along with India's independence, Indians elected their first Prime Minister as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who hoisted the tricolor flag for the first time at the Red Fort in the national capital, New Delhi.
